Saint Louis-based wine school Mid-American School of Wine is seeking driven candidates as we expand our core brand and product line: PreSomm.

PreSomm provides customers understanding and enthusiasm of fine wines, wine service, and prepares them for higher education certifications through the Court of Master Sommeliers or Certified Specialist of Wine. We offer a wine course, the PreSomm manual, specialized map sets and educational posters.

Instructors

PreSomm brand has a unique instructor track including Intern, Associate, and Lead.

Any PreSomm graduate can apply for our Intern Instructor role. Intern must have also attained Introductory Sommelier certificate through the Court of Master Sommeliers. This position includes small lectures and assisting the Lead Instructor on operations including: set-up and break-down and wine service needs.

After one semester, said candidate can apply for the hourly/paid position Associate Instructor. This position is to assist the candidate in furthering their beverage education, with the goal of Certified Sommelier through Court of Master Sommeliers or Certified Specialist of Wine through the Society of Wine Educators. This position includes large lectures, wine service technique training sessions. As needed, this position may also include assisting the Lead Instructor on operations including: set-up and break-down and wine service needs.

Lead instructors have an expanded responsibility of operations, key lecturing, course communication, quiz and exam set-up and proctoring. This is a paid position that requires set-up and break-down time as well as at-home efforts.
